Château Royal Beach Resort & Spa understands the importance of protecting the privacy of its guests and is committed to respecting your rights. You will find below the terms of our commitment regarding the processing of personal data. They are intended to inform you about how we collect and use this data. We invite you to read it carefully.

  2. Identity of the company

    The data controller is the Château Royal Company, a foreign company registered on the Trade and Companies Register under number 850 788548 with its registered office at 1 Rue Ernest Massoubre 98800 Noumea, New Caledonia.

  3. Data collected

    When you browse our website or when you book a stay or any other service in one of our establishments, we may ask you for some personal information. All data concerning users or customers are collected directly from them. The personal data that we may collect are as follows:

    1. Booking a stay or service

      When you book a stay, a treatment or any other service (fitness class, events, etc.) in our establishment, we will ask you to provide some personal information and your contact details (surname, given names, postal and electronic address, telephone number, title, etc.), as well as your credit card number for transaction and reservation purposes.

    2. Online Quote Request

      When you request an online quote for a seminar or function, we ask you to provide your contact information (last name, first name, email address) as well as the name of the company (if applicable).

    3. Opening a customer account

      When creating your customer account, we collect your email address and login details.

    4. Newsletter

      The Château Royal offers users a free newsletter service, which consists of a regular transmission of news and commercial communications relating to the hotel’s activity. When registering for the newsletter, we will ask you for your email address.

      This service will be provided by mailchimp.com, which manages the subscription of users, the sending of the newsletter and the cancellation of subscriptions. The user can unsubscribe at any time of the service by clicking on the link at the end of the message received at their email address, or by exercising their right to cancellation or objection with Château Royal, in accordance with the same procedure as for personal data (see point 8. Rights of users).

    5. Links on social media platforms

      Our website refers to our pages on various social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube). Please note that by clicking on these links, you are leaving our website and the scope of this Privacy Policy. On social media platforms, only the respective privacy statements and conditions of use of the operator of the social media platform apply.

    6. Payment

      Remote payments by credit card are made by communicating your credit card number, its expiry date and CVC code directly to the payment bodies. Château Royal never has access to confidential information about the means of payment.

  4. Purposes of data processing

    The main purpose of collecting your personal data is to provide you with a secure, optimal, efficient and personalised experience at the resort. To this end, you agree that we may use your personal data to:

    Manage room reservation and treatment requests.

    Improve our services, including to:

    • Adapt our products and services to best meet your needs.
    • Personalise our offers and communications to you.
    • Inform you of special offers and any new stay or treatment available at the resort.
    • Conduct optional satisfaction surveys and reporting.
    • Manage any complaints related to our stays and services.
    • Manage our relationship with our guests before, during and after their stay:
    • Send you newsletters or contact you by phone.
    • Manage requests to unsubscribe from newsletters.
    • Take into account the right to object.
    • Comply with local laws (for example keeping accounting documents).
    • Secure and improve your experience while using our websites, in particular.
  5. Legal basis

    The collection of your personal data has as legal basis:

    Compliance with the legal obligations of the Château Royal company (for example, legal retention periods for accounting documents). The execution of a contract to which the person concerned is a party or the execution of pre-contractual measures taken at the request of the latter (booking and purchase of stay, etc.).

    The legitimate interest of Château Royal to ensure the best quality of its services, to provide its customers with the best possible support for their reservation and  stay and to improve the functioning of the website.

    The legitimate interest of the company Château Royal as indicated in Recital 47 of the GDPR, namely the existence of a “relevant and appropriate relationship between the data subject and the controller,  such as when the data subject is a customer of the controller”.

    The consent of the data subject where this is required by the regulations in force, in particular as regards commercial prospecting and cookies.

    Should you  not wish to provide the personal information requested, you may not be able to access certain parts of our website or Château Royal may not be able to respond to your requests.

  6. Recipients of data

    Your personal data collected on the site or at the resort are intended to be used by Château Royal and can be transmitted to subcontracters that the company may engage.

    However, the personal data collected by Château Royal is not transmitted to commercial or advertising entities.

    No transfer of personal data is made to a third country or to an international organisation.

    Data is only accessible to certain authorised employees in the IT, customer, sales and marketing departments within the limits of their respective responsibilities and in compliance with this policy.

  7. Data Retention Period

    We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the intended purposes.

    • Exercise your right of access, to obtain your personal data and the information applicable to the processing of this data.
    • Request that your data be corrected if it is inaccurate or request that it be completed if it is incomplete.

    • Request the portability of your data.
    • Set guidelines for what happens to your personal data after your death.

    In this case, you must indicate the personal data that you want us to rectify, complete or delete, by accurately identifying yourself with a copy of an identity document. Requests for deletion of personal data will be made subject to the legal obligations of the company Château Royal Beach Resort & Spa, in particular as regards the conservation or archiving of documents.

    Finally, you can also file a complaint with the French data protection authority, Commission Nationale Informatique et Libertés (CNIL).
